How to score high in CUET UG and PG — especially for management programs
Select domain subjects that match ALL your target programs. For BMS/BBA: Business Studies + Economics + Accountancy + General Test is mandatory. Don't choose irrelevant subjects wasting attempts. Check each target university's required CUET subjects before applying.
CUET UG syllabus is directly from Class 11 & 12 NCERT textbooks. Read every chapter, every example, every exercise. No separate coaching required for basics — perfect NCERT + PYQ (Previous Year Questions) from NTA is sufficient for 90%+ score.
In Section II (Domain), you attempt 35 out of 40 — skip the 5 hardest. In General Test, attempt 50 out of 60. Start with questions you're confident about. With +5/–1 marking, wrong answers are very costly — skip if below 20% confidence. Practice full-length mocks with timer.
Most students neglect GT. But GT is the differentiator for DU admissions — BMS, B.Com(H), BA Economics all require it and merit includes GT score. Practice reasoning, basic maths (Class 10 level), and current affairs for 3 months before exam. 240+ in GT is achievable with focused practice.
CUET score is accepted by 250+ universities. Apply to DU (via CSAS), JNU, BHU, HCU, AMU, Pondicherry and private universities all with one score. Keep both Central and Private options open. Registration on individual university portals is separate from CUET registration — don't miss deadlines.
General Test and PG Part A both test Current Affairs from the past 6 months. Read one newspaper daily (The Hindu / Indian Express). Focus on: Govt schemes, appointments, awards, sports, economy. Make a monthly notes file. This section can be mastered in 30 min/day.
