Beyond Headlines. The Complete Story.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that there is no change in the existing 33% passing requirement for Class 10 board examinations.
The clarification comes amid confusion among students, parents and schools regarding the assessment and passing criteria for the upcoming board examinations. CBSE has reiterated that students will continue to be required to secure the prescribed minimum marks to pass the examination.
The board’s clarification is aimed at putting an end to speculation surrounding changes in the Class 10 assessment system. Students preparing for the board examinations are advised to follow only official CBSE notifications and guidelines rather than relying on information circulating on social media or other unofficial platforms.
The passing requirement remains an important part of the board’s assessment framework and applies to students appearing for the Class 10 examinations under the existing rules.
With board examinations approaching, CBSE has also urged schools and students to remain updated through official communication. Schools are expected to guide students according to the latest examination and assessment instructions issued by the board.
For students, the message is clear: there is no new 33% passing rule to prepare for. The existing requirement continues to apply, allowing students to focus on their academic preparation, revision and examination strategy without being distracted by unverified claims.
CBSE’s clarification provides reassurance to students and parents who were seeking clarity on whether the passing criteria had recently been changed.
