Amaravati: SRM University-AP organised PRARAMBH Demo Day (IGNITE) 2026, showcasing student-led entrepreneurial ventures and reinforcing the university’s commitment to innovation, startup development, and technology-driven solutions.
Spearheaded by the Directorate of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (DoIE) through the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CEL), the day-long event featured 34 startup pitches presented before a jury comprising industry leaders and venture mentors. The initiative provided student entrepreneurs with an opportunity to demonstrate their ideas, receive expert feedback, and explore pathways to develop their ventures into scalable businesses.
The showcased startups addressed a diverse range of challenges, spanning sustainable energy, quantum-powered cybersecurity, and circular economy solutions. Among the notable ventures were Bharrat Energy, developing green hydrogen-based alternatives to conventional LPG systems; Tsiphrion, focused on advanced quantum encryption for digital security; and OpenBin, which applies waste-to-wealth technologies to promote circular economy practices.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Soumitra Dutta, Advisor, SRM Group, highlighted the progress made in building an entrepreneurial culture across the university. He encouraged student founders to use constructive feedback to refine their business models and develop strong teams.
Mr Srinivasan Thirumalai, Director – Entrepreneurship & Innovation, SRM AP, appreciated the quality of the pitches and students’ enthusiasm, commitment, and problem-solving abilities. Mr Vijay N, Innovation Advisor, DoIE, noted that nearly 3,000 students had registered for the startup initiative, describing the participation as a significant institutional milestone.
PRARAMBH Demo Day marked the culmination of the programme’s incubation and mentoring journey. Through presentations and interactive question-and-answer sessions, participating teams received feedback and strategic guidance to strengthen their business propositions.
The initiative reflects SRM University-AP’s efforts to create an environment where students can transform innovative ideas into entrepreneurial ventures with the potential to address emerging industry and societal needs.
