Smart approaches to crack management entrance exams
Decide your target B-schools, then identify which exams to take. CAT is the foundation — start there. Add XAT, NMAT, or SNAP based on your target list. Register for exams well before the deadline — seats and test cities fill up fast.
All exams test reading comprehension. Read The Hindu editorials, HBR articles, and The Economist daily. For XAT's Decision Making section, practice ethical dilemma questions — unique to XAT. Target 250+ words/minute reading speed.
1 full-length mock per week (minimum). Spend more time analysing your mock than taking it. Track section-wise accuracy, not just overall score. CAT mocks: use TIME, IMS, or official mock. XAT mocks are different — practice DM section separately.
Most aspirants ignore PI until after CAT results. Wrong move. Start reading about your industry, current affairs, and your own academic background. Prepare a crisp "Why MBA?" answer, SOP, and stories from your academic/work experience. PI can make or break your IIM dream despite a high CAT score.
Pick your exams, build your strategy, and take the first step toward India's top B-schools.
