Delhi to Transform 75 CM Shri Schools with ₹265-Crore Infrastructure Upgrade

Delhi is set to witness a major transformation in its school education infrastructure as the Delhi Government has approved a nearly ₹265-crore proposal to upgrade 75 CM Shri Schools across the capital. The proposal was cleared during the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

The ambitious project aims to provide students with safe, modern and inclusive learning environments. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government’s objective is to ensure every child has access to clean, secure and well-equipped campuses that support both academic and extracurricular development. The entire project is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2027.

The comprehensive upgrade includes construction of new classrooms, repairs to ageing infrastructure, modern sports facilities, auditoriums, CCTV surveillance, parks and child-friendly amenities for students with special needs.

School entrances will be redesigned with modern gates displaying the new CM Shri logo alongside the school’s name. Extensive civil works will include waterproofing, painting, plaster repairs, boundary wall construction, upgraded toilets, clean drinking water facilities, improved sewerage and drainage systems, renovation of multipurpose halls, repair of rainwater harvesting systems and development of sports infrastructure wherever required.

The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening Delhi’s public education system.

PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2026: Nominations Invited for Extraordinary Children

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026, one of the country’s highest civilian honours for extraordinary children. The award recognises exceptional achievements by children aged 5 to 18 years in the fields of bravery, social service, environment, sports, art and culture, innovation, and science and technology. Parents, teachers, guardians, institutions and individuals can nominate deserving Talented children, while self-nominations are also accepted. Applications must include a write-up of up to 1,000 words, supporting documents and a recent photograph. Online nominations are open through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal and will close on July 31, 2026

Dubai-Based GEMS Education to Invest USD 30 Million in India

Dubai-based GEMS Education has announced plans to invest USD 30 million in India over the next three to five years as part of its expansion strategy. The education group aims to establish more than 30 schools across the country and build a network of 1,000 partner schools by 2047.
